I'm a dog person. In fact I better be because my dog is a 140 lbs Chocolate Lab!
Now that's a lot of dog!
We always joke that he's part lab, part bear, part horse and part walrus.
He also eats A LOT and is very food motivated.
He stays on point while my baby eats in her highchair hoping she'll drop throw something.
(I guess it's nice that he'll clean it up for me).
I just keep his dog food next to his bowl because it's hard lugging around the heavy dog food bags.
| Notice he's even on "Diet" dog food |
I didn't like the bags being out. Good thing I found this idea...
So I decided to make one of my own.
The tin is adorable but I found this large plastic container,
or "mini garbage can" is what my husband called it.
It works perfect for me in my kitchen
And labeled it because I LOVE labels (and so my husband wont throw garbage in it lol).
It has handles that clasp it closed.
Next to him it looks kind of small, but it holds at least a full 20 lbs of a dog food.
Very nice now.

I just found your blog on 'A Bowl full of Lemons'. What a fantastic idea for a blog. I am considering doing the same thing for my home. I love organising, but in a crafty way. I am looking forward to all your organising ideas. So happy to have found you. I have two young kids so I am just making my way around managing the household at the moment, but want to get crafty and organised too. Will be looking for tips from you. Might even start my own blog about creative organising.

I love your dog he's so big and cute :) and I love the idea of the dog food bin, I've also got a big dog and have been thinking of a nice way to organise and store her food, this might be just what I need. I'm now following your blog with interest. Look forward to reading through your blog :)

ReplyDeleteYours turned out great! Looks like your dog approves! Thanks for the feature!
ReplyDeleteThe one picture of him standing by the trash can cracked me up. You are right... why even have a bowl? It is the perfect height for him! lol I love the label.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking to my Organizing Mission link party!
so cute!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I have the same container for cat food! Need to get another for the dog. Another great thing about these is they are only $3 at Wal-Mart!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I have been wanting to get a container for our dog's food for months now and this has me motivated after seeing how cute it is! Yay for big labs!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Love your pup - what a big, huggable sweetie!
ReplyDeleteWe buy dog food in 40# bags and it's stored in our pantry in a container. But, I like your idea much better - so cute! I'd really like to add one of those plant stands with wheels so that I can move the container around.
Thanks so much for sharing such a cute idea!
